Plex has a very specific naming and organizing scheme, and you have to name your files according to that specific scheme. After you rename the files properly, you must reboot your device. Switch Off your device for 3-4 mins, and then switch it back on. Then refresh your device and check if the problem is solved or not.

Solution 3: Change Server

Sometimes the problem lies in the server which hosts the files, and therefore you see “there are no Items in this Library” when you try to access the files. This problem can be solved by changing the server. Follow the stepwise instructions listed below to change the server.

1. Create a new desktop folder for transferring the files from your old server
2. Go to “Plex Media.” Sort the files accordingly, then select them and transfer them to the new desktop folder.
3. Switch to the new server while the files are being transferred and activate the VPN.
4. Sort the files accordingly and “drag and drop” them into your Plex new media server.

Solution 4: Sort your files

Many may fail to detect this problem, but the ” Plex: there are no Items in this Library “issue could be due to improper sorting of files in the Plex folder. Proper organization is very important because when files are not arranged properly in their respective places, it gets hard for Plex to find the files, and such errors occur. 1. The first step is to activate Debug logging. after you’ve successfully activated the debug logging, you must leave the current Plex server.
2. Then wait for 2-3 minutes, then restart the Plex server.
3. After restarting the server, wait for two minutes.
4. Then the user is required to test and refresh any movie. Then after waiting for 2-3 minutes, attach the files to the library.

Solution 6: Tweak folder permissions

Follow the steps below to change the permissions to make changes to a file:

1. Go to the file and right-click on the file icon. Then click on properties.
2. After opening properties, click on the ‘security” tab and select “advance.”
3. After clicking on “advance,” a new tab will open. Go to permissions, Then click on “change,” which is written parallel to “owner.” 
4. Now, write the name of your account in place of the previous owner.
5. A check box on the bottom of the tab says, “Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object.” Check this checkbox and click “OK.”

Solution 7: Extract content again

You can also get rid of the Plex: there are no Items in this Library issue by re-extracting the media content. Here you should know that there is no Direct method to extract these files, and the user is required to extract these files from compressed formats. Follow the stepwise instructions to re-extract the media:

1. Go to “My Computer” and find Plex’s media in your storage.
2. Sort the files accordingly and “drag and drop” them into your PC’s media server.
3. Pop-up windows will appear for each file. Click “confirm” every time.
4. Patiently wait for the files to upload.
